The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) is a set of U.S. government policies and procedures used by the Department of Defense (DoD) in the procurement of goods and services. DFARS is also known as the Buy American Act.

On February 13, 2003 the European Union issued the following directive, and published the “Restrictions of Hazardous Substances Directive” (RoHS). RoHS controls the use of specified hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment sold in Europe beginning July 1, 2006.
Kato Tangless® and Tanged helically coiled wire inserts are manufactured by Kato Precision (UK) Limited. Kato Precision does not use lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB or PBDE in the manufacturing of Tangless and Tanged products.
