Instructions for using KATO CTSB Series Electric Tool Mandrels

Printable Version

1.      Insert the Mandrel into the chuck of the end of the CT5405 or CT5406 Electric Driver.

2.      Using 2 small wrenches, loosen the lock nut on the mandrel to adjust for the length of the insert to be installed, and the depth of installation desired below the surface of the work piece.

3.      Thread the insert fully on top the mandrel and adjust the Nylon spinner and lock nut so that there is a gap between the top of the insert and the spinner.  This gap should be approximately equal to the depth of insert installation desired below the top surface of the work piece (typically 1 to 1˝ threads).

4.      Tighten the lock nut against the spinner using the same 2 small wrenches.

5.      Follow the instruction for using the CT5405 or CT5406 Electric Installation Tools.  Install the insert into the tapped hole.  Check the installed insert for the correct installation depth, and adjust the depth stop on the mandrel accordingly per the instructions in Steps 2 and 3, if required.
