Thread repair using
CoilThread Inserts is a universally accepted method of repairing
stripped threads in all types of metals and other materials.
Damaged threads can be brought back to the original thread size, and
better than new using stainless steel inserts. Thread wear, corrosion
and galling will be virtually eliminated, and the assembly will be
stronger than the original with CoilThread Inserts.
Unlike threaded solid bushing type
fasteners, CoilThread Inserts provide space and weight savings to
your repair process. In addition, CoilThread Inserts eliminate
the need for oversized drilling and tapping, and welding or plugging
of damaged holes.

Each individual KATO-KIT thread size
consists of:
- Twelve, six, or four KATO Tanged
CoilThread Inserts (see chart for details) in the most popular
length (1-1/2 Diameter).
- 1 High-speed steel STI tap.
- 1 High quality threaded
installation tool (mandrel made from steel not plastic)
